Philadelphia Boys Choir

The Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale develops a varied repertoire every year. This repertoire is the basis for all performances of the Choir in a season, including the annual tour. It is a combination of classical, traditional, popular, and patriotic songs, focusing on American composers.

The Choir sings at many private and community functions throughout the year. The season typically includes:

The Nutcracker with the Pennsylvania Ballet,

Concerts with the Philly Pops,

Annual Holiday Concert,

Annual Spring Concert,

and other various performances throughout the year.

Additionally, Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale embarks on an concert tour each year.

The Music Director evaluates each Choir member two times every year for musical progress and to check if his voice has changed. Once a boy’s voice begins to change, he graduates from the Choir in one of two ceremonies held during the year. He is welcome to audition for the Chorale once his voice stabilizes. About a quarter to a third of Choir members graduate each year due to voice change. This allows younger members to move up from Cadet programs.
